The digital transformation is an essential trend, constituting a crucial engine for renewing growth models, improving governance, and the quality of life of the population. In this process, young people, with their knowledge, rapid adaptation to technologies, and innovative spirit, assert themselves as a pioneering force. Whether it is supporting citizens in accessing digital services, spreading digital skills within the community, or promoting innovative entrepreneurship, the Vietnamese youth actively contribute to anchoring digital transformation in daily life.

Throughout Vietnam’s revolutionary history, young people have always been a avant-garde force, taking the initiative in new missions and the most difficult areas. From the “Three Good Deeds” and “Five Voluntaries” movements during the independence struggle years to the “Young Entrepreneurs” and “Creative Youth” initiatives in the Renewal period, the pioneering spirit of youth has been a major lever of national development.

In the digital age, this spirit of engagement extends to a new “front”: that of digital transformation. This goes beyond the application of information technologies in management, production, or daily life, involving a global transformation of societal functioning based on digital technologies. It requires qualified human resources capable of quickly adapting to technological innovations and ready to renew their ways of thinking – attributes characteristic of youth.

In recent years, many major policies of the Party and the State have highlighted the role of young people in this process. The development of digital human resources, the construction of a digital society, and the promotion of innovation are closely linked to the valorization of youth. The action programs of the Youth Union also identify digital transformation as a priority axis, aiming to train a generation of “digital youth”, competent, creative, and responsible in the digital environment.

– The “blue shirts” on the digital front

The engagement of young people in digital transformation is concrete on the ground. In recent years, in many localities, volunteer teams have directly helped residents access digital services and gradually become familiar with the digital environment.

One of the emblematic initiatives is the model of “community digital technology groups.” Deployed at the village, neighborhood, and residential area levels, this model mobilizes local resources to support citizens, traders, and small production units in using digital technologies and platforms. It aims to create “digital citizens” and promote digital transformation locally, while being an essential link in the development of digital administration, economy, and society. It also contributes to achieving strategic goals, including raising the digital skills level of the population.

Within these groups, young people play a central role, guiding residents in the installation and use of applications such as electronic identification, online public services, or payment and e-commerce platforms.

This model is now widely deployed across the country. In many regions, young people also participate in putting agricultural products and local specialties online on e-commerce platforms. Thanks to their support, many farmers and small businesses have been able to promote their products, expand their markets, and increase the value of their goods.

Additionally, young people stand out in innovation and technological entrepreneurship. Many projects led by young people mobilize digital technologies to address societal challenges, whether it is e-commerce platforms, educational, agricultural, or digital management and service solutions. This dynamic contributes to structuring a rapidly expanding innovation ecosystem.

Youth organizations actively integrate digital technologies into their operations through data digitization, organizing online activities, and deploying digital communication campaigns, strengthening their ability to mobilize and connect young people.

– Stimulating the engagement of “digital youth”

Digital transformation is a long-term process that requires the participation of the entire society. In this context, young people should not only be beneficiaries but also creative actors and change drivers.

To strengthen their role, it is essential to develop their digital skills while creating an environment conducive to innovation. Entrepreneurship support programs, technological idea contests, and applied research projects involving young people help nurture their creativity and commitment.

The Youth Union, as a space for training and development, must continue to renew its actions in line with national digital transformation goals. Developing digital volunteer models, digital skills training, and projects led by young people in this field will strengthen their direct involvement in the country’s development.

Each stage of national development entrusts new missions to the youth. In the digital age, digital transformation is one of the areas where this pioneering spirit is most clearly expressed. Thanks to their skills, dynamism, and desire to innovate, young Vietnamese people contribute to spreading digital uses, promoting innovation, and driving a new momentum in the country’s development towards a digital government, economy, and society.
