The agenda for the installation of the Communal Centre for Social Action (CCAS) closely follows that of the new Municipal Council. The new mandate involves reorganizing it, notably by complementing its leadership with members of civil society. Nominations are now open. With the elections and the installation of the Council passed, another municipal body that needs to be recomposed is the CCAS. Although closely linked to municipal services, it has a separate budget. It is led by a President, the Mayor, 7 council members, and an equal number of external members. The latter must be citizens involved in associations participating in animation, prevention, and social development actions in the municipal area. Nominations are currently open until April 7. Lists of nominations with a minimum of 3 people should be sent to the Town Hall by registered mail or delivered to the Town Hall reception.
Once all nominations are received, the Mayor will officially appoint the members of the Board of Directors. They will be called to meet every quarter to oversee many operations related to the city’s social policy. This may include combating isolation, assisting people with disabilities, insertion programs, or fighting exclusion. The Seniors Guide, published last year, provides a broad overview of the actions carried out by the CCAS of L’Union.
