The new municipal councilors gathered at the town hall of Thézac recently for the election of the mayor and his deputies, in the presence of some village residents. Running for re-election, former mayor Jean-Luc Mucha was re-elected to head the municipality after a unanimous vote. Claudette Robert will serve as 1st deputy and Renaud Barrière as 2nd deputy.

Upcoming projects

A slideshow presented during this initial meeting provided an overview of ongoing work, developments, and financial status. Discussions included various local taxes, as well as the mayor and deputies’ remuneration. The condition of roads, potential equipment purchases for maintenance, and renovations of communal buildings were also addressed. The bakery project, with a possible expansion, and the emerging social club with a small grocery store, were discussed. Construction of intergenerational homes or a marketplace is being considered to make this small village of 200 residents even more appealing and to create a town around the church. The dynamic local community, supported by the municipality, will continue to thrive, said Mayor.

Promising work prospects were discussed over a friendly drink.
