New accusation against Patrick Bruel: a woman files a complaint in Belgium

The media storm surrounding Patrick Bruel shows no signs of slowing down. As his name is being mentioned in several legal proceedings, a new complaint has been added to those revealed in recent days. According to RTL, a woman filed a complaint on Tuesday, March 24 in Belgium for sexual assault incidents dating back to 2010. At that time, the complainant worked in the film industry and was responsible for promoting the movie “Comme les cinq doigts de la main”, which notably featured the singer. She now accuses Patrick Bruel of assaulting her backstage at a Belgian media event in Brussels.

A complaint filed fifteen years after the incidents

The alleged incidents reportedly took place in a professional setting. The now 39-year-old complainant explains that she never consented to the singer’s actions. She describes unwanted touching and claims to have rejected him multiple times, without success. According to RTL, this woman had previously taken legal action at that time, only to withdraw her complaint later. Fifteen years later, she has decided to reverse her decision and reinitiate the legal process. This new accusation adds to a series of revelations targeting the artist in recent days, further weakening his public image.

Other ongoing accusations

Indeed, Patrick Bruel is already facing two other recent complaints. One is for rape and the other for attempted rape and sexual assault. The latter was filed by Daniela Elstner, director of Unifrance. Through her lawyer, she described “a violent gesture, something abusive, something she had a reaction time to before managing to escape in the face of shock”. These allegations, reported by Mediapart and confirmed by RTL, are also accompanied by testimonies from several other women recounting incidents of sexual violence. Faced with this succession of accusations, Patrick Bruel strongly denies the allegations. The singer claims he “never sought to coerce anyone into a sexual act”. This is not the first time his name has been associated with such accusations. In 2019, two investigations were opened after complaints from masseuses in Perpignan and Corsica. They were ultimately closed without further action at the end of 2020 due to insufficient evidence. Now, attention turns to the legal follow-up of these new cases, which could mark a turning point in the artist’s career, as he remains innocent until proven otherwise.
