From Tuesday, March 24th to Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, the cinema Les Studios in Brest (Finistère) will have a Spanish theme.
This exhilarating event can be experienced at the Les Studios cinema in Brest with over 29 films, numerous meetings, and concerts. It’s a team effort.
The ABJ-Cadix, the Spanish department of the UBO, the association MERE 29, the Hispanic pole and its international section have come together to deliver this new edition around three main themes: the 40-year twinning between Brest and Cadix, a tribute to 50 years of freedom, and women in cinema.
“Travel, reflect, vibrate, celebrate,” according to Marie-Agnès Maille, a member of the organizing committee.
Director Jonás Trueba, through “La Reconquista,” filmed the reunion of two lovers who met in their youth. This film, released in 2016 in Spain, is now showing in France since January 28, 2026. Its screening opened the festival on Tuesday, the 24th of January 2026.
The program is varied and rich. There is the premiere of “Vanilla,” a fiction by Mayra Hermosillo, set in Mexico in the late 1980s, telling an unusual story of women.
