Alain Bayeul spent forty years in Île-de-France and started taking photos in the 1980s. He first exhibited his work in group exhibitions and then solo. His move to Tarn in 1998 coincided with a focus on macro photography. Until March 31, he is showcasing his talent at the Pôle Culture Attractivité on the theme of “At the height of his garden”. The control of depth of field envelops the central subject in a cottony, almost gaseous atmosphere, bringing the piece closer to a watercolor. Pastel clouds of purples, greens, all in light and vaporous nuances create a diaphanous intimacy around the bird perched on its branch, halfway curious, halfway fearful, or the alert hare. Alain Bayeul captures scenes of a “Micropolis, a small people of the grass”: two butterflies in single file on grass as airy as them, another, in a sumptuous orange dress, feeding on the nectar of a flower… Everything is delicate, gentle. In Alain Bayeul’s enchanted garden, nature is at peace, as are those who inhabit and animate it, to the great delight of the photographer and his audience.
