At the end of the first round of municipal elections, the new team, known as the council, held its first municipal council meeting on March 20.

Having obtained 55% and 45% of the votes among the 60% of registered voters who went to the polls, 23 of Laurence Lamy’s team members and 6 of Pascal Rayssac’s team members sat in office last Friday.

Out of the 29 elected officials, half of them previously held office.

A vote result that held no surprises: Laurence Lamy started her second term as mayor of Bon-Encontre on Friday. In her statement, she congratulated the 29 councilors and welcomed the new members. She expressed her honor at being re-elected as mayor and thanked her team for their trust. She also thanked the residents for their support and pledged to unite all the inhabitants.

It was also decided to deliberate on the number of deputies surrounding her. The proposal to have six deputies instead of seven from the previous mandate was adopted, without the opposition’s votes. All six were previously deputies or councilors in the previous municipal council: Philippe Moineau, Jacqueline Annette-Ogier, Pascal Roulet, Magali Chatot, Laurent Bielle-Biarrey, Véronique Alberti-Deffis

At the next meeting on April 1st, the municipal council will discuss, among other topics, the composition of the committees that each of these six individuals will be responsible for, under the mayor’s presidency.
