The Belgian 4×4 lived up to its reputation. Always present at the finals, the Belgian Tornados added another medal to their impressive record. Two-time winners in an indoor world championship, our compatriots couldn’t match up to the American team led by world record holder Khaleb McRae.

Jonathan Sacoor started our relay in the best possible way. Just like in the mixed relay, Jo dominated the competition to pass the baton to Christian Iguacel in first position. Roulers’ athlete did his best to resist Chris Robinson’s comeback but could only limit the damage. Compared to the US rockets, because the other nations were already far behind. And the podium was almost secured. Julien Watrin pulled off a strong relay to solidify the second Belgian spot. Alexander Doom finished the job. The former indoor world champion crossed the finish line in 3’03”29, a good distance behind the simply untouchable American quartet (3’01”52). Jamaica placed 3rd (3’05”99).

The Tornados secured a third medal for the Belgian delegation in these indoor world championships in Torun. After the title in the mixed 4x400m relay and Eliott Crestan’s silver on 800m.

In their 39th final in a major championship, the Belgians clinched a 23rd medal. In their history of indoor World Championships, it’s the 5th medal for the Belgian Tornados: two gold (2022 and 2024), two silver (2010 and 2026) and one bronze (2018).
