Originally from Essonne, Emmanuelle Santos is the founder of the company Herapreg. While visiting friends in La Châtre, this mother of three children is behind a medical innovation aimed at improving women’s intimate health, already tested by around twenty customers from Berry and Creuse. A topic that has long been taboo.
What is the origin of your innovation born out of a real need?
Emmanuelle Santos: “During my third pregnancy, I suffered from intense vulvar pain and heaviness, to the point where it sometimes became impossible for me to walk or carry out my daily activities. In searching for solutions, I discovered that there were very few effective treatments available and that these pains often went unanswered, even by some healthcare professionals.”
What have you invented?
“Faced with this lack of answers, I decided to create an over-panty compression garment designed to concretely relieve pain and heaviness during pregnancy or postpartum, as well as in cases of prolapse (organ descent). Designed to be discreet, this certified medical device, called Pelvinity, works through targeted compression in the pelvic and vulvar area, following a principle similar to compression stockings used for legs. This compression helps reduce the feeling of heaviness and improve the mobility of women who suffer from it. Its structure consists of a comfortable elastic belt and an adjustable compression hammock. It is fully manufactured in France.” www.herapreg.com
