Elie Semoun becomes a father for the second time at 61 years old, and now seems to have found a new balance with Aude Fraineau, with whom he welcomed a son a few months ago. However, before this, the comedian had a completely different life: he was married to Annie Florence Jeannesson, with whom he had his first child, Antoine, born in 1995.

In an interview on the podcast “La Fame,” Elie Semoun discussed his divorce and how his fame played a role in his separation. “It’s very hard to start from scratch, unknown, and then become very well-known, not all at once but almost, while balancing a couple’s life,” he shared.

Success deeply changed Elie Semoun’s relationship with others, especially women. “You’re in the seduction, so it inevitably causes problems in a couple because girls look at you differently,” he explained. This new situation gradually weakened his marriage.

The comedian also realized the impact of his fame during his travels abroad. “It was funny because when I was shooting in New York, I saw my true value as a guy: it was zero. I divorced around 37/38 years old and it didn’t surprise me because I needed to live my celebrity life alone,” he added.

With celebrity status, relationships with women move much faster. “The girls who didn’t pay attention to me before now do, sometimes beautiful girls. It’s very pleasant. The fact that you’re famous is part of your charm,” he acknowledged. He also discussed the tensions his fame created in subsequent relationships. “Being stopped in the street is annoying for girlfriends, especially since I ended up with an artist, a dancer at the Paris Opera, who needed to be in the spotlight. But people were completely indifferent to her, even though she was sublime. It was complicated,” he shared.

For him, the divorce was a difficult period. But what he wanted above all was the well-being of his son Antoine, who has Asperger’s syndrome and was 7 years old at the time. “My fear was to completely disturb him. At the time, I was with someone Antoine didn’t like. It was quite violent,” he confessed in a previous interview.
