This time it won’t be for her. But still! A nomination at the Victoires de la musique classique is no small feat. Astrig Siranossian, who spent her entire childhood in Romans-sur-Isère, was nominated on Friday, March 20th, in the category of “Instrumental Soloist”. Competing against the cellist were two other women: Adélaïde Ferrière for percussion, and Vanessa Wagner on piano. It was the percussionist who received the prestigious award at the end of the evening.

But let’s talk about Astrig Siranossian’s performance live on television. She masterfully performed Haydn’s concerto in C major for cello. Despite her dazzling career, Astrig doesn’t forget her roots. For the past ten years, along with her sister Chouchane, also a professional violinist, she has been leading the artistic direction of the Musicades in Romans-sur-Isère.

“Where I grew up, and took my first steps as an artist,” she confided less than a week ago. An event that over the years has reached an increasingly diverse and numerous audience. Nothing surprising for the 37-year-old artist, daughter of conductor Alexandre Siranossian, former director of the conservatory and specialist in Armenian music. She received the National Order of Merit in 2025. This summer, the festival will take place from August 20th to 23rd in the gardens of the International Shoe Museum and will focus on the theme of travel.
