In partnership with the Jean-Claude Carrière cinema in Bédarieux, the twinning committee with Leutkirch im Allgäu is offering the screening of two German films in their original version with subtitles (price: €5).

On Monday, March 23 at 2:30 PM, the film “The Secret Floor… Bad Gastein,” by Norbert Lechner, will be shown. It was presented in France for the first time during the “Twinning Films” festival in Bressuire and received acclaim in Paris. 12-year-old Karli follows his family to the Alps where his parents are opening a hotel. In the establishment, he discovers an elevator that allows time travel and finds himself in 1938. He becomes friends with Hannah and Georg, but hesitates to reveal what he knows about that period and the danger looming.

On Tuesday, March 24 at 8:30 PM, the film “A German Childhood: Amrum Island, 1945,” by Fatih Akin will be screened. Based on Hark Bohm’s memories, it tells the story of a 12-year-old boy’s awakening at the end of the Third Reich. In spring 1945, on Amrum Island, Nanning faces the dangers of the sea and works to support his family. With the arrival of peace, he must find his place in a world in upheaval.
