On the afternoon of March 22, the closing ceremony and prize-giving of the National Scientific and Technological Research Competition for secondary school students (middle school and high school) for the school year 2025-2026 took place at Phenikaa University.
The competition rewarded 145 winning projects, including 14 first prizes, 29 second prizes, 44 third prizes, and 58 consolation prizes.
With 13 projects competing this year, the student delegation from schools under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training once again shone, winning 11 prizes: 3 first prizes, 3 second prizes, 2 third prizes, and 3 consolation prizes.
This year’s competition, jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Hanoi People’s Committee, as well as by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and Phenikaa University, took place over three days from March 20 to March 22.
For the first time, 100% of the departments of Education and Training participated, with the involvement of 17 units including high schools under the Ministry of Education and Training, universities, middle schools, and academies, with 242 projects submitted, an increase of over 30 projects compared to the previous year.
During the evaluation of the competition quality, Dr. Thai Van Tai, director of the General Education Department at the Ministry of Education and Training and vice-chairman of the Steering Committee, emphasized the diversity and relevance of the projects, praising their innovation and digital transformation focus. He appreciated the presence of numerous projects related to system software, embedded systems, robotics, and intelligent machines, as well as products applying artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to solve practical problems.
According to Mr. Thai Van Tai, this result confirms that the competition not only serves as an academic platform but also helps guide research capabilities, foster innovation and creativity, and meet the future high-quality human resources development requirements.
Professor Pham Thanh Huy – President of the jury – commended the students’ efforts and creativity, highlighting the importance of scientific thinking development, research passion awakening, and future workforce training in the fields of science and technology.
During the closing ceremony, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized the role of sciences and technologies in national development, stating that today’s students are the driving force behind creating and mastering future technologies. He praised and congratulated the students for their efforts, declaring all participants as winners for daring to step out of their comfort zone and pursue their research passion.
At the closing ceremony, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong officially launched the National Scientific and Technological Research Competition for secondary school students for the school year 2026-2027, to be organized by the Education and Training Department of Dak Lak province.
