At Max-Jacob College in Quimper, the athletics meetings for senior kindergarten (grande section) and CP students brought together 118 students from schools in the Kermoysan area on Friday, May 22nd, for a day dedicated to sports and living together.
This project is jointly supported by the coordination of the REP (priority education network) in Quimper and the Quimper Nord district as part of the inter-level connection between senior kindergarten and CP. The schools Paul-Langevin, Kerjestin, and the town of Penhars participated in this sports day organized for the students.
Divided into seven teams, the children took part in different workshops for jumping, running, and throwing. The activities were prepared by sixth and fifth Segpa students (adapted education) from the college, who were responsible for accompanying the groups they were assigned to. Trainees from the BPJEPS (Professional Youth, Popular Education and Sport Certificate) of the association Icare Solution as well as the City’s sports department also contributed to the smooth running of the event.
“The students benefited from the warm welcome with music provided by Ulis students (with disabilities) and the class of allophone students from the college,” allowing the young athletes to warm up before starting the rotations.
“This is a strong project for the students from the neighborhood schools,” explained Virginie Saout, director of Paul-Langevin School. “It is part of the ‘May, Month of Sport in Kermoysan’ operation and complements actions focused on physical activity and combating sedentary lifestyles led by the Regional Health Agency (ARS).”
