At only twelve and eight years old, Hugo and Lilou Amathieu are about to embark on an extraordinary adventure across the Atlantic. Already champions of France in Ninja Warrior, these two young residents of Eaunes, south of Toulouse, will represent France in June at the world championship in the United States.
Hugo and Lilou Amathieu will represent France in June at the Ninja Warrior world championship in the United States. Ninja Warrior is not a video game or a spin-off of the Ninja Turtles, but an intense, demanding, and perilous sport that thrills the audience.
Agile and bursting with formidable energy, Hugo, 12, and his little sister Lilou, 8, both champions of France in this sport, balance diligent academic paths with several weekly training sessions, notably in Muret, at the Parkour Park Red Monkey.
Under the guidance of coach Yoni, the two children train in Ninja Warrior sessions combining grip, explosiveness, obstacles, and mobility: a program as physically impressive as it is impressive. Next June, Hugo and Lilou will take on the global challenge of Ninja Warrior, each in their category, at the Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
International teams will be competing, but this prospect does not really impress the enthusiastic children! Sports are a fundamental value in the Amathieu family, with athletics and basketball for the parents: Jérôme and Myriam. The taste for competition and self-improvement is deeply ingrained in Hugo and Lilou.
At home, a playful course of suspension and agility allows the children to build on their training. However, Myriam Amathieu tempers their enthusiasm: “This world competition in the United States will above all allow us to learn from the techniques and performances of international competitors.”
The family stay will also be conducive to visits and encounters. Jérôme Amathieu explains: “Ninja Warrior is a supportive universe where competitors encourage each other. Every time, we make new friendships with families.”
The Ninja Warrior World Championship will take place from June 18 to 23 in Greensboro, North Carolina. To follow, support, and accompany Hugo and Lilou Amathieu, their Eaunes association, governed by the 1901 law: Ninja Eaunes. Contact: amathieu.jerome@gmail.com Instagram: ninjamathieufamily
