This year, there were 216 players competing in the chess tournaments held at the packed multipurpose hall from May 14th to 17th. The youngest player was 5 years old and the oldest was 85, all with active brains, in a great atmosphere. Coming from all over the region and from different parts of France, they welcomed players from Sweden, Algeria, the UK, Monaco, Italy, and Ukraine, all accompanied by their friends, knights, rooks, kings, and queens.

In the A Open category, Thibault Dudognon from Hay Chess in Allauch came first, followed by Yannick Gozzoli (2nd) from the Roy René Chess Club in Aix-en-Provence, and Rémy Degraeve (3rd) from Marseille Chess.
