Over ten years after the major fire that impacted the company in September 2015, Mont Royal company continues to shine in the Pays de Bitche, offering a bright vision for its 53 employees. This was discovered by the sub-prefect of Sarreguemines, Wassim Kamel, during a recent visit to Goetzenbruck.
Founded in 1938, this eyeglass lens manufacturing company has once again managed to rise, thanks in part to the support of the group that acquired it five years earlier: Essilor. Now part of EssilorLuxottica, this global group, employing 200,000 people worldwide, continues to invest in entities like Mont Royal in Goetzenbruck, as evidenced by investments aimed at renewing part of the machinery park in the coming years in the Pays de Bitche.
“We manufacture prescription lenses”
This allows this brand, rather positioned in the high-end eyewear market, to maintain its level of excellence in order to supply over 400 customers, mainly independent opticians. “We manufacture prescription lenses,” says Julien Boutron, director of operations at the Goetzenbruck site. These are made from a plastic alloy treated in such a way that it becomes as hard as glass without being as fragile as the latter.
The factory also benefits from EssilorLuxottica group’s innovations for the treatment of its optical lenses, whether it concerns the consideration of blue light, the fight against children’s myopia, and many other new developments.
This allows for a high level of service for the approximately 1,100 lenses produced each day in Goetzenbruck, while ensuring deliveries to opticians within three days of the order being placed. “Being able to respond so quickly and in such a personalized manner is what makes our strength,” emphasizes Julien Boutron.
