In the case of the robbery of the American star, the civil parties have presented their financial claims, while the final decision on civil interests will be made on September 15.

American star Kim Kardashian claimed one euro in damages and interests from the “robber grandpas” who attacked her in her Parisian hotel room in 2016, stealing 9 million euros worth of jewelry during Fashion Week. During a hearing focused on civil interests, the lawyer for the queen of influencers, Léonor Hennerick, demanded one euro for each of the four team members, including the one considered their leader, Aomar Aït Khedache, now in his seventies. Another member, Didier Dubreucq, passed away a few weeks after the verdict pronounced in May 2025.

After a highly-publicized trial lasting four weeks, the Paris Assize Court issued lenient sentences against the ten accused, with the heaviest being three years in prison without returning to detention. The court explained that they took into account “the time that has passed” since the night of October 2-3, 2016 – nine years – and the health status of the main protagonists, which “ethically prohibits incarcerating anyone.”

Kim Kardashian, who had been bound and tied and had come to testify about the terror she felt, said she was “satisfied” with the verdict and eager to “turn the page.” Her stylist, Simone Bretter, who was present in the accommodation occupied by the star during her ordeal, also requested damages and interests.

Investigators never recovered the loot from this violent robbery, including a ring estimated at 3.5 million euros that Kim Kardashian had proudly shown on social media. Another forgotten victim of this incident, the hotel receptionist, also demanded nearly 550,000 euros in damages and interests through his lawyer Mohand Ouidja. The majority of this amount corresponds to a “loss of professional and academic opportunity,” as this man, who was then a PhD student and supported his studies with this night job, was unable to finish his thesis and advance his education. “Since then, he has been living with post-traumatic stress,” “has never been able to rebuild himself, his trajectory has been shattered,” according to Me Ouidja, whose client now lives in Algeria after being “removed from French territory.”

“One of the defense lawyers, Gabriel Duménil, retorted, “It’s a bit audacious what is being asked of you.” The hotel also requested 100,000 euros for reputation damage. The decision on civil interests, the conclusion of this sensational case, will be made on September 15.
