The 16th EU-India Summit, held on January 27th in New Delhi in the presence of European leaders Antonio Costa, Ursula von der Leyen, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marks a turning point in strengthening ties between the European Union and India. Meanwhile, bilateral visits are increasing, such as the one by the French President who went to India in mid-February to participate in the Artificial Intelligence Summit. Can cooperation in cutting-edge sectors – from electric vehicles to artificial intelligence, and semiconductors – transform the Indo-European relationship into a strategic autonomy lever? What benefits, as well as risks, does this reconciliation pose for Europe? More broadly, does India have the industrial, technological, and diplomatic capabilities to not only become an essential partner but also a structuring actor in the new international order?
