The images are chilling. On May 10, a family narrowly escaped a violent accident in Arizona, United States. According to the New York Post, a small tourist plane had to make an emergency landing on the highway and hit their vehicle. This scene was recorded by a dashboard camera.
The family was returning home after a hike when they suddenly saw a small plane flying at a very low altitude above the highway. “Look, look!” the mother in the family exclaims in the video. The aircraft is then seen dangerously approaching the road, and more importantly, their vehicle.
“Dashcam footage captured a Cessna A150L making a forced landing on US 60 near Superior, Arizona, narrowly avoiding a collision with a car after taking off from Superior Municipal Airport. The FAA said only the pilot was onboard, and no injuries were reported.” – Breaking911 (via Twitter)
“Oh my God, why is it so low?” the mother continues, as everyone in the car starts to seriously worry. Fortunately, her husband managed to narrowly avoid the plane, which still grazed the family’s pickup truck. The aircraft then continued for several meters and hit a sign before coming to a stop on the median.
“It’s still unbelievable when I look at the footage,” the mother told our colleagues. Miraculously, no one was injured, including the pilot. The family’s vehicle only suffered minor damage from the plane’s propeller. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of this potentially disastrous accident.
