Approaching the end of the season, Real Madrid is looking for its future coach. The arrival of Alvaro Arbeloa has not helped matters and to replace him, the name of José Mourinho has been widely mentioned for several days. The Portuguese coach is close to making his return even though he claims he has not had direct contact with the Madrid leaders yet.
Current coach of Benfica, José Mourinho is in a tight spot. Indeed, the Portuguese club would like to keep him but Real Madrid’s advances are becoming increasingly insistent. From the Spanish club’s side, they would like to finalize the deal by next week. One thing is certain, discussions will have to intensify soon since Mourinho has already stated that he will start looking at offers on Sunday.
Real Madrid Wants José Mourinho
After a disappointing season with no titles once again, Real Madrid must make changes and find an experienced coach who can manage the team. José Mourinho appears as a credible candidate in the eyes of the club and he could make a grand return after previously coaching from 2010 to 2013. The current coach of Benfica refuses to disclose more information at the moment. “I don’t know. I don’t know if you heard the news: the only thing I am sure of is a proposal from Benfica that I haven’t seen, but Mendes tells me it’s very good. It’s also true that I haven’t spoken to Florentino or anyone else from the board. All of this is true,” he revealed in a press conference.
José Mourinho Will Decide Next Week
While Benfica wants to extend the contract of their coach, José Mourinho will review the offer from Real Madrid and everything indicates that he will make his grand return. “But I’m not stupid… and there are contacts between the club and Jorge. And I think they will turn into contacts with me during the next week. It is on this basis that I will decide about my future,” he adds.
