Almost 40 years old, handsome, rich, famous … but still single? Invited to the show Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant on KBS2, actor Yoon Shi Yoon finally spilled the beans on his love life.
With his friends Kim Jae Joong and Choi Jin Hyuk by his side, he revealed why he still hasn’t tied the knot, and the least we can say is that it’s surprising. The funniest part? His mother might be behind it all!
In this KBS2 show, celebrities come together to chat in a relaxed atmosphere. Kim Jae Joong invites his close friends to his place, and Choi Jin Hyuk, Yoon Shi Yoon, and Yoo Seon Ho join in. They talk about marriage, love, family, all in good spirits. They were all born in 1986, so they also share their experiences and emotions without holding back.
Right from the start, Yoon Shi Yoon puts everyone at ease with a joke about his age and his place in the group. Born in September, he calls the others “hyung” and says, “Being the youngest is more convenient in social life.”
Choi Jin Hyuk then shares about his family’s expectations and the struggle to build a relationship. He explains, “My mother doesn’t directly blame me for not getting married, but she blames me for everything else.” He adds, “I feel like she doesn’t even like the idea of me dating someone. It seems like she doesn’t want me to get married.” And he concludes, “Honestly, meeting someone is super hard.”
Kim Jae Joong gives his take on love life under family influence: “When you live with your mother, you can’t really date someone. And if you don’t date, you don’t get married. Mothers are like bunkers.” Choi Jin Hyuk confirms by sharing funny situations: his mother listens to his calls and remembers everything to repeat later.
Yoon Shi Yoon then talks about his personal case and his view on marriage. He says he doesn’t plan to get married in the next four years. And he admits, “My mother tells me to get married, but deep down, I think she doesn’t really like the idea.” He recounts an anecdote where he asked his mother to drop him off near a station for a date. He says, “Mom, I asked you to drop me off.”
Kim Jae Joong laughs and summarizes, “So basically, you’re not getting married because of your mother?” Yoon Shi Yoon bluntly responds, “Yes, actually … it’s because of her.” Choi Jin Hyuk adds, “That’s also a big reason for me.” The discussion ends in laughter, with a remark about mothers seeing their sons as their only pillar.
