In Jakarta, the provincial government (Pemprov) has revoked the operating permits of two entertainment venues in West Jakarta, namely B Fashion and The Seven, following a drug abuse case that occurred on Saturday, May 9.
The Director of the Tourism and Creative Economy Service of DKI Jakarta Province, Andhika Permata, stated that the revocation of the operating permit was part of the Jakarta provincial government’s commitment to maintaining the safety, order, suitability, and quality of the tourism ecosystem in Jakarta.
He emphasized that the Jakarta provincial government will not tolerate tourism venues that have been found to be involved, abandoned, or turned into places of illicit activities.
“The revocation of the operating permit is a form of closure in maintaining a tourism ecosystem that is healthy, orderly, and of quality,” Andhika stated in a declaration on Saturday, May 16.
The provincial government stressed that every actor in the tourism sector must comply with the law, maintain order, and adhere to the laws of their environment.
Therefore, according to Andhika, internal monitoring by managers is a mandatory constant practice.
“We want to ensure that all tourism businesses in Jakarta become comfortable and safe spaces for the population and tourists,” said Andhika.
Andhika stated that the Tourism and Creative Economy Service of DKI Jakarta Province will continue to strengthen surveillance and coordination with law enforcement and relevant institutions to ensure that all accommodation, entertainment, and tourism companies in Jakarta operate in accordance with regulations.
“We will continue to strengthen surveillance with law enforcement and related agencies. We want the Jakarta tourism industry to develop in a healthy, orderly manner with standards that can maintain public trust,” Andhika declared.
