Access to Modern Technologies at the University of Technology in Da Nang
The University of Technology (University of Da Nang), in collaboration with the KUKA group, has recently opened a Center for training, research, and development in industrial robotics and artificial intelligence on the University of Technology campus.
The center is based on a flexible and intelligent production model, incorporating industrial robot stations, autonomous mobile robots (AMR), and an operational supervision system based on AI. This model allows for simulating operational processes of a smart factory within the training environment.
Students can directly observe and practice automation processes such as robot programming, production system integration, and operational data analysis using AI tools. This center’s establishment represents a new milestone in high-tech research and training development, providing students and professors direct access to modern robotics and automation systems and bridging the gap between academic education and practical industry needs.
According to Christoph Schell, CEO of KUKA Global, the center offers students and professors direct access to technologies currently used in modern factories worldwide, enhancing their research capabilities and ability to apply technology to practical production.
Moreover, the center acts as a link between educational institutions and companies, aiming to train highly skilled technical human resources for the modern industry. Companies can directly participate in the training process, allowing students to explore the industrial world during their university studies.
In addition to training and research activities, the center aims to inspire young generations in science and technology fields by providing an open experimentation space for students from Da Nang and neighboring provinces through practical activities in robotics, STIM, and automation technologies.
Previously, the Technical Education University (University of Da Nang) also inaugurated an Advanced Automation and Training Laboratory, sponsored by Siemens Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Bien Dong Electrical Automation Technology Co., Ltd.
The advanced automation and training laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art industrial control and communication systems, incorporating advanced technological solutions to support teaching and practical work in areas such as logical control experiments and industrial communication networks.
Collaborating with universities and acquiring laboratories and workshops to support their training activities not only efficiently supports teaching and learning but also promotes innovation in training methods for practical application and relevance.
By providing students access to modern equipment and real-world business issues, numerous scientific research ideas are sparked, creating opportunities to develop products with practical applications in daily life.
