After a year since the viral images of Brigitte Macron slapping Emmanuel Macron as they exited a plane, the incident continues to fuel speculation. This time, it is the revelations of political journalist Florian Tardif in his book “Un couple (presque) parfait,” published on May 13, that bring the subject back into the spotlight. According to him, this sequence erupted after Brigitte Macron discovered exchanges between her husband and the Franco-Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani. Rumors of a possible relationship between Emmanuel Macron and the actress have been circulating regularly since 2024.

Despite the speculation, the actress has repeatedly denied the rumors in the press. In an interview with Gala in 2025, she responded, “The question is why people are interested in these kinds of stories. I think some lack love and need to create such romances to fill that void.” She further commented on the rumor, saying, “It comes and goes in waves. I observe: what can I do? It doesn’t bother me. What’s the point?”

Old interviews of Golshifteh Farahani have resurfaced recently, sparking new interpretations. In an interview with Le Point a few months ago, the Iranian star reflected on these rumors with a lot of perspective. She stated, “The rumors, you have to let them pass. Whether true or not true, they are just rumors. It’s like waves that come and go. I’ve experienced it so many times in my life.”

In another interview with Paris Match in 2025, the actress shared her personal views on romantic relationships in France. She expressed, “In France too, there is a culture of mistress and lover. Why stay with your wife if you are no longer in love with her or if you are in love with someone else? My theory is that all French men are stuck with their mothers. Their first wife is the mother they never had, and they don’t let her go, even if they are madly in love with someone else.”

Brigitte Macron’s entourage has denied any connection with the Iranian actress. Despite the media frenzy, they firmly denied Florian Tardif’s version, stating that Brigitte Macron categorically denied the story directly to the author on March 5, emphasizing that she never looks at her husband’s phone.

Following the release of the images last year, the analysis had already rejected the idea of a marital dispute. Emmanuel Macron had attempted to calm the controversy, saying, “We were joking, as we often do. Everyone needs to calm down.”

On RTL, Florian Tardif insisted that it was a scene of a couple, regretting that they could have shown that they were a real couple, not a perfect one. The saga continues, promising more to come.
