The international airport of Noi Bai achieves a remarkable breakthrough in the Top 100 global ranking

The international airport of Noi Bai has made a notable progress in the ranking of the world’s top 100 airports, recently published by the international organization Skytrax for the year 2026.

Concrètement, Noi Bai achieved an impressive leap by reaching the 71st position globally, gaining 8 ranks compared to its 79th position in 2025. This is also the eighth consecutive year that the capital’s main air gateway has been included in this Top 100. A significant fact is that the airport enters the Top 10 global airports handling between 30 and 40 million passengers per year for the first time.

“We consider this 71st global position and our entry into the Top 10 of our category as a true source of motivation to continue our transformation. Noi Bai will continue to listen to its passengers and modernize to provide a complete and memorable experience for every traveler,” declared the airport management.

These results are based on a series of structural and operational improvements. The airport has renovated and expanded the check-in areas in its two passenger terminals, optimizing space and significantly increasing its capacity, even during peak periods.

In addition, smart equipment has been deployed in a synchronized manner, from check-in counters to security control systems and baggage delivery belts. The integration of modern technologies helps to reduce waiting times and improve the passenger flow.

Parallel to this, passenger services and landscaping have been modernized following the “green airport” model, creating a modern, welcoming, and inspiring environment from the moment of arrival in the capital.

The implementation of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) model has also contributed to optimizing flight management, allowing airlines to reduce fuel consumption, improve punctuality, and limit polluting emissions.

In addition to Noi Bai, another member of the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, Danang International Airport, also ranks in the Top 100 global 2026, with a progression of 9 places compared to the previous year.
