Michael Banks, Director of the US Border Patrol, Resigns
Michael Banks, the director of the American border patrol, has just tendered his resignation this Thursday. He is not the first to leave his position among those responsible for implementing Donald Trump’s anti-immigration policy.
The director of the American border patrol (CBP), Michael Banks, resigned on Thursday, May 14th. This is another departure among officials tasked with enforcing Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.
“We thank Border Patrol Director Michael Banks for his decades of service to this country,” said one of its top officials, Rodney Scott, in a statement.
“Under his leadership, the border went from chaos to the most secure it has ever been,” he added, referring to the border between the United States and Mexico.
Other Departures and Demotion
Under Michael Banks’ leadership, the border patrol has been involved in extensive anti-immigration operations in many cities across the country since Donald Trump returned to the White House in early 2025.
