Free Night at the Breton Departmental Museum
As part of the European Night of Museums, the Breton Departmental Museum will open its doors for free on Saturday, May 23 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to midnight. For the occasion, several free and reservation-free activities are offered.
Firstly, there will be music and dance. About forty young musicians from the music conservatory will make their instruments resonate in the museum’s courtyard with horn players, trombones, wind instruments, and a step-dance demonstration (from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.).
Flash visits of 30 minutes will be organized at 8:30 p.m., 9 p.m., 10 p.m., 10:30 p.m., and 11 p.m. to discover a fashion, a costume, a photo, an object, et cetera.
An Investigation to Conduct
An investigation will be entrusted to families. The objective? To unmask dragons who have taken refuge in the museum’s walls. To save these creatures, participants will need to use their mobile phones to collect clues (from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., suitable for ages 10 and up).
Creative workshops inspired by the museum’s collections will allow those who wish to create, color, cut, and let their imagination run wild to experience the visit differently (suitable for ages 7 and up).
The evening will end with a musical tour in the courtyard of the Breton Museum. A museum mediator will reveal to the public the many architectural facets of this building by the light of a flashlight and to the rhythm of the horn players.
