After the denunciation by female fans of ASSE of abusive frisking upon their entry into the Stade des Alpes stadium on Saturday to attend the match (0-0) between GF38 and the St Etienne club, the Isere-based team reacted by releasing a statement on its social networks.

“The Grenoble Foot 38 has become aware of serious incidents that allegedly occurred during security checks ahead of the match against AS Saint-Etienne this Saturday at the Stade des Alpes, stating abusive frisking,” the statement read. “Upon receiving these reports, the club fully understood the situation and immediately launched an investigation, closely working with its security providers, to precisely establish the facts and responsibilities that would arise from it. In any case, Grenoble Foot 38 firmly condemns any inappropriate behavior and any physical or moral harm to individuals. Security, respect, and the dignity of all our male and female spectators are absolute priorities. From Stade des Alpes to Stade Vercors, as well as on all the fields where our teams play, football must remain a party and cannot, under any circumstances, be tainted by such actions. Deeply committed to fighting all forms of violence and discrimination, GF38 highlights its partnership with the ‘Her Game Too’ association, with whom it actively works to ensure an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment in the stadium. In this regard, an advertising campaign was recently deployed at the Stade des Alpes and a reporting system was put in place.”

The statement also invited anyone who was a victim or witness of such acts, either at this match or previous ones, to fill out their dedicated form.
