An important meeting has just been held in the community hall of Sautel to prepare for the upcoming Bee Festival, scheduled for May 30 and 31.
Organized under the auspices of the UN, this event should, according to the president of the animation committee, Mickaël Neaumont, be the last. “It is a heavy investment for the volunteers who are advancing in age, even if it is a success. There will be other enjoyable moments in Sautel, easier to organize,” he explains.
On Saturday at 5 p.m., Mathieu Lihoreau, a researcher at CNRS, will give a lecture. He has worked on ant communication, cockroach personality, fly voting, and bee life. Today, he leads a team of researchers exploring navigation abilities through landscapes using robotic plants and radar systems. An exciting lecture is in store.
The next day, numerous activities will be offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In the community hall, an art exhibition will showcase the works of Roger Lorenzato’s students, adding an additional artistic touch to this day full of good vibes.
Musical ambiance will also accompany the festivities with the group Soledad performing in the late morning, and guitarist James at 4 p.m. The food truck “Les Crêpes de Cris” will offer honey chicken or sausages with fries.
For this festival, beekeepers will offer tastings while “Les Haies ariégeoises” will provide information on honey plants, hedge planting guidance, as well as the preservation and development of fruit heritage.
