Melanie Page has multiple talents. A daily theater actor, television actress, and novelist, the 50-year-old artist has just published a moving novel, “Peaux et Peaux,” which explores motherhood and filiation in all their complexity. Invited on “Telematin” this Sunday, May 10 to promote the book, the star of “Sous le Soleil” expressed being “very moved” to address this theme: “Motherhood touches everyone. Even if we are not mothers, we all have a mother. It also affects men. There are joys, sorrows, frustrations, this theme is infinite. I am a mother myself, I loved raising my children. I knew I had a strong theme,” she initially explained.
“The first story that emerged is childbirth, and other stories that are further away from me like those who denied pregnancy. I put myself in the shoes of every mother,” she added.
Melanie Page is very close to her stepdaughter Nina
Clarifying that this book was “not autobiographical,” Melanie Page is still the happy mother of three children she had with the host Nagui: Roxane, born in 2004, Annabel, born in 2008, and Adrien, born in 2012. She also has a stepdaughter, Nina, born in 1997, from Nagui’s previous relationship with TV presenter Marine Vignes.
The two of them have an excellent relationship. The stepdaughter had a very touching reaction upon discovering the book, as Melanie Page explained: “Nina is very sensitive, that’s what I love about her, among other things. She cried a lot, she sent me a photo of herself with tears in her eyes when she read the first version of the book.” A testimony that confirms the strength of their bond.
Melanie Page and Nagui have been a couple for over twenty years
In an interview with Gala on April 1, the 50-year-old actress had shared insights about her “very strong bond” with her stepdaughter. “Being a stepmother is a role that I adore. I think it worked well because I didn’t want to replace her mother, even though I had a parenting role and applied the same rules to her as my children,” she said.
She added: “I think she had more freedom to talk to me because she was not afraid of hurting me. We built a relationship of trust.” In a relationship for over twenty years, Nagui and Melanie Page met at a restaurant in Saint-Tropez before getting married in 2010. Since then, they have been in a loving relationship, within a blended but more united household than ever.
