The first round has delivered a clear verdict: a city divided into two main blocks, followed by a third list that has chosen to maintain itself. Out of the 4,082 voters (56.26% turnout), the “Saint-Lys avenir” list leads with 37.33%, closely followed by “En action pour Saint-Lys” (36.70%). In third place, “Saint-Lys ensemble” received 25.98% of the votes.

Fabrice Planchon, who came in first place, thanked the 1,480 voters. “This trust honors us and confirms a clear expectation: residents want a serious, concrete, and unifying project. We approach this second round with humility and confidence, in respect and debate of ideas. Personal attacks do not align with my values or way of acting. Winning only makes sense to unite and build sustainably.” He highlights the strength of his team and its preparation: “A municipal team is not improvised. The stakes for Saint-Lys are too important. We are ready to act from day one and fully assume the future of the municipality.”

Thierry Bertrand, with 1,455 votes, believes “nothing is decided yet”. He focuses on budget discipline, criticizing the cost of his competitor’s program. Priorities include “management like a good family, well-being of the most vulnerable, and dynamism of businesses, shops, and associations”. He also wants to consider unused buildings and improve access to health services. “With my team, I commit to a sincere dialogue so that Saint-Lys does not become a dormitory town.”

Despite his third position, incumbent Mayor Serge Deuilh maintains his position. “The first round sends a clear message, which I take into account.” He criticizes the competing programs for their lack of coherence and claims his understanding of the issues: “Saint-Lys requires a structured approach and projects tailored to the needs of the municipality. Our experienced team carries this sustainable vision. Voting for Saint-Lys Ensemble is contributing to the future of the city.”

On Sunday, the mobilization rate will be the key to this election for Saint-Lys.
