The gala evening of French football has delivered its verdict. Ousmane Dembélé has been elected as the best player in Ligue 1 for the 2025-26 season at the UNFP Trophies held at the Palais Brongniart in Paris on Monday, May 11.

In other categories, Parisian Désiré Doué was named the best young player in the league, retaining his title from last year. With seven goals and two assists in 22 games, the French winger surpassed his teammates Warren Zaïre-Emery and Joao Neves, as well as Valentin Barco from Strasbourg and Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille.

Key player in Lens’ successful season, 21-year-old Robin Risser was named the best goalkeeper, while Pierre Sage (RC Lens) was awarded the best coach title.

On the women’s side, Melchie Dumornay from Haiti (OL Lyonnes) was named the best player in the Arkema Première Ligue, acknowledging her outstanding year, which includes winning the French Cup and the LFFP Cup, with hopes of adding the league and Champions League titles to her accolades.
