A clear and flawless victory that marks the 29th Liga title. For the first time in its history, FC Barcelona clinched the Spanish champion title after a Clasico on Sunday, May 10. At Camp Nou, Barcelona defeated Madrid (2-0) with a display of the current gap between the two teams. With three more matchdays in the league, Barcelona now holds a 14-point lead over Real Madrid and cannot be caught.

On Sunday night, without their star Lamine Yamal due to a hamstring injury, the Blaugrana took the lead early in the game. In the 8th minute, Englishman Marcus Rashford scored with a superb curling free-kick that beat Thibaut Courtois, making his return to the Madrid goal for the first time since mid-March. Ten minutes later, Ferran Torres, with an acrobatic and inspired pass from Dani Olmo, widened the gap by scoring the second goal.

Dominating throughout the match, Barcelona did not give Real Madrid a chance, with the Madrid players looking tense and stuck in a crisis following an altercation between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde earlier in the week. Despite attempts from Vinicius and Brahim Diaz, Madrid failed to create dangerous opportunities. Without Kylian Mbappé, who was resting, young Gonzalo Garcia also could not make a difference. Like last year, Real Madrid will end another season without a trophy.
