Liverpool Set to Sign Senegalese Defender Ousmane Diao

For the next season, Liverpool’s leaders want to recruit a central defender. They may have found their man with a Senegalese player.

The pool of Senegalese players across Europe is impressive. In Denmark, a young central defender can be found. He joined FC Midtjylland in July 2024 from the Portuguese club CD Mafra, signing a contract until June 2029.

The Dakar native has made a name for himself in the Danish club and has become one of the top players in the league. His performances are making waves across Europe. Leipzig is the first to show interest in the 21-year-old talent.

However, the German club is seeing Crystal Palace and Bournemouth also interested in the central defender. But the real competition will come from a top English team, with reports from Transferfeed indicating that Ousmane Diao is on Liverpool’s radar.

The young prospect will not be held back if an offer between 15 and 20 million euros is made, a reasonable sum for the Reds.
