Retired Handball Player Finds Success in New Career
Mickaël Robin, who left the handball scene in 2024, has successfully transitioned to a new professional and family life as a physiotherapist. Despite offers from various clubs, including D1, D2, and N1, he politely declined to return to the sport. Robin’s brother, Stéphane, is a physiotherapist for the French women’s handball team.
After a hiatus from the sport, Robin briefly came out of retirement to participate in a tournament in Los Angeles, where handball is a minor amateur discipline. He played alongside former teammates like Vid Kavticnik and William Accambray.
In a surprise turn of events, Robin led the Los Angeles Team Handball Club to victory in the U.S. championship, despite minimal training due to an impromptu playing field setup. The experience left a lasting impact on him, sparking interest in future tournaments while balancing family and career commitments.
