Exclusive – Quality of life in London: France’s 119 neighborhoods dissected
LONDON DREAMING – Real estate, security, health, environment, education… We have analyzed the 119 neighborhoods of the English capital based on around twenty criteria related to the quality of life for French expats. Discover all the results.
London continues to enchant the French, despite Brexit. 180,000 compatriots live in the English capital and few consider leaving. Often drawn by job opportunities, they love this welcoming, green city that is less dense than Paris. An undeniable attractiveness that does not erase the difficulty of settling there. The choice of neighborhoods is vast. The city is sprawling. Greater London covers almost 1600 km2, which is twice the size of Paris plus its inner suburbs. Property prices can sometimes be exorbitant. Finding a pleasant place to live is therefore no small feat.
To help (future) expats make their choice, we have examined the 191 wards – the finest division of London – across more than twenty criteria representative of quality of life: property prices, security, green spaces, cultural and leisure offerings, pollution levels, presence of bilingual schools, proximity to Saint Pancras and the City… All of this helps identify the neighborhoods to favor and those to avoid.
