A legal substance sold in some smoke shops, vape stores, and gas stations across Michigan is raising major concerns among addiction specialists, who say the drug can trigger addiction within days.
The substance is called 7-OH, short for 7-hydroxymitragynine, a potent kratom derivative that doctors say is becoming increasingly common among patients seeking treatment.

Detroit sports radio host Pat Caputo dies at 67 after battle with pancreatic cancer
Longtime Detroit sports radio host and columnist Pat Caputo has died after a battle with cancer at the age of 67.
In a post on social media on Thursday (May 7), Caputo’s family said he died following a diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer revealed earlier this year.
Caputo was widely known for his work on 97.1 The Ticket, where he hosted and contributed to multiple sports talk programs over the years.

After a little bit of sunshine and chill temperatures throughout our Thursday, most of us waking up to a few rain showers overnight last night into early this morning, but we will bring some sunshine into the forecast, looking ahead into the end of the week on Friday.
We’ll start off the day with some sunshine before a little more cloud cover works in by midday, late afternoon, and into the early evening hours tonight. High temperatures warmer than what we’ve had the past few days. Expect high temperatures to warm into the low 60s by Friday afternoon.
