At its meeting on April 27, the Autun City Council approved a partnership agreement with the Autun Destination Culture association. This decision strengthens an already active collaboration in serving the city’s cultural programming.

Autun Destination Culture was founded to support the city in designing and implementing its cultural season. Since 2019, the association has become a key partner in local dynamism, focusing on both performing and visual arts.

The performing arts commission closely collaborates with the Culture and Events Department and elected officials to curate the cultural season. By actively monitoring shows in the region, Paris, and the Avignon Festival, Autun benefits from a diverse cultural program suitable for all audiences. The goal is to ensure high-quality cultural offerings for residents and enhance the territory’s appeal.

On the other hand, the visual arts commission manages the programming and organization of exhibitions at the Galerie du Passage. Since its opening in October 2019, the gallery has hosted over 17,000 visitors for more than 80 exhibitions.

The convention adopted by the city council formalizes the relationship between the city and the association, outlining their respective commitments. It also includes a €5,000 grant to Autun Destination Culture to support its activities.

Through this partnership, the city reaffirms its commitment to collaborating with local stakeholders to develop an ambitious, accessible, and community-centered cultural program, making culture a sustainable lever of Autun’s dynamism.
