In Lourdes, the senior women’s team secured a good draw against the second-placed team. Despite a serious start, they conceded an early goal before gradually reacting. After several missed opportunities, Axelle Bridoux equalized before halftime with a pass from Laure Noyrigat. The second half, more disjointed, saw Lourdes pushing forward, but the team held firm and left with a well-deserved point in a committed and contested match.
On the other hand, the U20 team saw their journey end in the quarter-finals of the Coupe d’Occitanie against Frontignan. In a balanced first half, the home team took the lead just before halftime. Coming back from the break, a penalty allowed them to double the lead, before extending it despite a reaction from the visitors. Reducing the gap twice, the U20 team couldn’t overturn the tide. Despite the defeat, the players’ spirit and commitment were commendable against a strong opponent.
Lastly, the club successfully organized the 33rd edition of the Groupama-Sport 2000 challenge in Couffouleux. The event brought together over 50 teams, 600 young players, and many volunteers. On the sports side, Giroussens emerged victorious in the U11 category, while the Vignoble-Giroussens partnership triumphed in U13, a successful day celebrated by all participants and partners.
