Some celebrities don’t take breakups very well.
A heartbreak hurts, and some people sometimes let their pain explode on social media. For some celebrities, this can even turn into a melodrama.
It was announced a few days ago that Zoë Kravitz and Harry Styles were engaged. Their fans congratulated them, but one reaction caused a stir: that of Channing Tatum, who had dated Kravitz for three years, including an engagement, before the couple separated in 2024. He still seems to regret their relationship today.
Shortly after the engagement announcement, the star of Magic Mike shared a poem on Instagram:
“My mind and heart separated ten years ago to determine the culprit of the disorder I was in. Finally, they could no longer stay in the same room.”
He had posted shortly after the image of a boxer visibly exhausted from a fight but still claiming to be fine.
We obviously do not know the deep meaning of the actor’s post. But the timing is a bit suspicious and fuels online discussions – and stifled laughter. Obviously, there’s nothing funny about having a broken heart.
And it is even viewed positively when men express their emotions. However, at 46 years old, his attitude seems somewhat theatrical – especially since he has been in a new relationship for a long time. However, he is not the only celebrity to react this way to news about his ex’s love life.
Tom Brady and his mysterious message
The American football player, Tom Brady also made a big drama out of his ex-wife’s marriage, Gisele Bündchen. Last year, he posted a selfie on his Instagram story precisely that same weekend. Nothing exceptional – except that he accompanied his photo with the lyrics of 1-800-273-8255. This is a song about the former suicide prevention hotline, which includes the lines: “I don’t want to live anymore”.
Did Brady really react with so much pathos because his ex-wife was remarrying? We will never really know. His post remains strange. Just like the sunset photo he had posted at the time with the words: “Can the child in my heart rise?” This type of pseudo-philosophical statement is more reminiscent of a lovestruck teenager than an adult man.
Regarding adolescent reactions: Selena Gomez announced her engagement in 2024 and appeared all smiles on Instagram, showing off her ring. When Justin Bieber then posted an image of Gollum, a character from The Lord of the Rings, trying to grab a ring, speculations quickly arose about whether it was a jab. The singer had written in the caption: “Women on social media when they get engaged”.
We’ve seen more mature responses.
But the award for the most absurd heartbreak post goes once again to Kanye West. After the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, the rapper posted on a black background:
“London, I know how you feel. I too have lost my queen.”
A reference to Kim Kardashian, who had filed for divorce. And after, it’s the women who are too emotional.
