“You cannot imagine the emotion you have given me.” The performance of Titiano, 29, did not leave the jury indifferent for the third blind auditions session of The Voice, broadcast on Saturday, March 14 on TF1. The talent from Bouches-du-Rhône had chosen to cover “Désormais,” one of Charles Aznavour’s most famous songs.
The striking resemblance between their voices surprised the jury. Very moved, Amel Bent wiped away a few tears. “Charles Aznavour is my great love. I closed my eyes and I was there. It’s incredible,” she explained.
“It’s my voice, it’s my way of being and singing. It’s something rooted in me. I hope the coaches will be pleasantly surprised and won’t think I’m an imitator,” Titiano explained before taking the stage.
“We are not taking you on this journey for Charles to do the entire competition,” Florent Pagny said. “It’s true that it’s disturbing to be the vocal double of someone like Charles Aznavour. It’s almost an honor for you. But we are not taking you on this adventure for Charles to do the entire competition!” he added.
Unfortunately for Titiano, the shared emotion with the jury was not enough to secure him a spot in the next stage of the competition, as none of the coaches hit the buzzer to turn their chair.
