The Professional Football League (LFP) is pleased to announce the renewal and strengthening of its partnership with DECATHLON. A partner since 2022, the brand is reaching a historic milestone by becoming a Major Partner of the LFP for an additional five seasons (2027-2032). As part of this agreement, DECATHLON will continue to provide the official balls for Ligue 1 McDonald’s and Ligue 2 BKT.
The elevation of DECATHLON to the status of Major Partner confirms the provision of official balls for all competitions. It also signifies an enhanced collaboration with LFP. DECATHLON will benefit from increased visibility, especially during matches in Ligue 1 McDonald’s and Ligue 2 BKT, as well as on the digital platforms of the competitions.
This ongoing partnership also highlights the “French-style football.” The future official ball will continue to be designed and developed at DECATHLON’s collective sports design center in Tourcoing, northern France. This partnership is built on strong geographical and human closeness, making the French field a true innovation laboratory.
Designed to meet high-level requirements, this collaboration draws on DECATHLON’s expertise and a co-design approach with French professional football stakeholders. DECATHLON continues to develop the official balls for Ligue 1 McDonald’s and Ligue 2 BKT, integrating professional players’ expertise for the benefit of all footballers. DECATHLON ensures that every participant has access to innovative equipment without compromising on price.
This new cycle is also part of a sustainability initiative. DECATHLON and LFP share a common goal: to create more durable balls and reduce their replacement frequency. Through this approach, DECATHLON addresses environmental challenges while maintaining performance standards.
On the other hand, LFP aims to leverage this collaboration for national and international outreach. By leveraging DECATHLON’s territorial network, this partnership will continue to enhance proximity with football fans beyond France’s borders.
