For several years, Ed Sheeran has been with Cherry Seaborn. Engaged in December 2017, they got married at the end of 2019. Together, they welcomed two little girls: Lyra Antarctica, born in 2020, and Jupiter in 2022. Despite the strength of their relationship, they faced particularly difficult times when Cherry, pregnant with Jupiter, was diagnosed with a tumor at 33 years old. She could only be operated on after the birth of their daughter, a procedure that saved her life. In an episode of the podcast “Friends Keep Secret” with Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky, and Kristin Batalucco on YouTube, the singer looked back on what he considers the best and worst days of his life.

His best memory remains his wedding. But the worst was in February 2022 when his partner revealed her cancer diagnosis. The artist reassured everyone about the mother of his children’s health: “She’s fine, she has been operated on.” However, he remembered the difficulty of the ordeal: Cherry was pregnant, and the tumor removal surgery could only happen after the birth of their second child. “Fortunately, she is doing perfectly well,” he confided.

On Tuesday, April 28, Ed Sheeran shared several photos on his Instagram account. This was an opportunity for him to update his followers. “Yes, I shaved my hair. I wanted to mark a new beginning. A lot of new things are happening in my life right now. I love this look, I might even keep it,” he explained in the caption of a carousel of updates. He then mentioned adding dates to his tour. Shortly after, the singer talked about the illness he had contracted which had taken a toll on him. “I had shingles for a month. I don’t recommend it, but I’m healing,” he reported. He also informed fans that his tour would resume soon.

In March 2023, Ed Sheeran spoke to Rolling Stone about his drug addiction, stating he had definitively stopped. “I have always drunk alcohol. But I didn’t touch any drugs before I was 24,” the artist revealed, explaining he first tried at a festival. The death of his best friend in early 2022 was a turning point, leading him to rethink his choices. This reconstruction process has allowed him to move forward more clearly than ever.
