Le Rio cinema is going through a critical financial period. After several months of work, the only independent cinema in Clermont is struggling to find its audience. A situation that threatens its future. In Clermont-Ferrand, the Rio cinema is going through a delicate financial period. Being the only independent cinema in the city, the establishment has just completed extensive renovations. It reopened its doors last January, with a fully renovated hall and brand new equipment.
Cinema Le Rio: a decrease in attendance The problem lies in the fact that, despite this anticipated reopening, the audience is taking time to return. Insufficient attendance, coupled with the delay in certain essential subsidies for the economic survival of the venue, is putting this cultural institution in Clermont in danger, known for its independent programming. Faced with difficulties, concern is growing among the employees. Léo Bertrand is one of them. In an attempt to save the cinema, an online fundraiser was launched about ten days ago. The goal is to raise €100,000 to cover the most urgent expenses. So far, over €18,000 has already been collected.
