Kiryat Shmona, one of the most targeted cities in Israel, its residents fear that the end of the war will allow the Lebanese Hezbollah to re-establish itself on their border.

The rocket passed through the upper chamber, tearing off part of the roof along the way to end up in the neighboring field. The Chai family’s house was flipped on April 1st, just after 3 p.m., by the blast of the explosion. But it still stands. Among the boxes full of still intact objects and the window frames lying in disarray, the couple shrugs: “When you live in Kiryat Shmona, you know you’re within missile range of Hezbollah,” smiles 67-year-old Manache. This time, the couple had nine seconds to rush into the shelter in the basement. “We heard the explosion when we closed the door,” adds Mira, pointing to the heavy metal door that seals the room.

Since April 17 and the ceasefire imposed by the United States between Israel and Hezbollah, the Shiite group allied with Iran, the northern sky has calmed down and the missiles no longer fall on this small town, the northernmost in the country.
