For over 30 years, the Fiest’A Sète festival has embodied a simple yet powerful belief: music brings people together and reveals the most essential aspects of humanity. For its 29th edition, which will take place from July 18 to August 3, 2026, the event promises a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, meeting, and sharing.

An event open to the world

Founded in 1997 as Fiesta Latina, the festival quickly expanded its horizons. Today, Fiest’A Sète claims a boundary-less programming, true to its DNA: exploring live music in all its richness. This year, artists and audiences will travel from Mali to Brazil, from Togo to the United States, passing through Tunisia or Mexico.

More than just a festival, Fiest’A Sète is a space for intercultural dialogue. Here, rhythms intersect, traditions converse, and identities meet in a welcoming and festive atmosphere.

Two weeks of discovery and sharing

The 2026 edition will be divided into two highlights:

– A first free week in Sète and Poussan, with concerts, DJ sets, and accessible activities for all. – Six themed evenings at the Théâtre de la Mer, a spectacular setting facing the Mediterranean.

In total, over 15 days of the festival: more than 200 artists, 12 concerts at the Théâtre de la Mer, 10 DJ sets and free concerts in Sète, art workshops for children and teenagers, cinema sessions, exhibitions, and world cuisine stands at the concert venues.

This commitment to accessibility remains at the heart of the project: to bring to life a demanding popular festival, where everyone can discover diverse musical universes.

The Théâtre de la Mer, an exceptional setting

It is impossible to mention Fiest’A Sète without talking about the Théâtre de la Mer. This former fortress transformed into an open-air amphitheater offers a unique backdrop, with the sea as a backdrop. Over the years, this mythical place has hosted memorable musical encounters: artist crossovers, unique creations, suspended moments between sky and sea.

Each evening becomes a sensory experience, where music blends with the sea breeze.

“Lively music” rather than “world music”

Fiest’A Sète prefers to talk about lively music. This emphasizes their grounding in the present, far from stereotypes or fixed folklore. From raï to fado, from cumbia to afrobeat, from flamenco to maloya, styles intersect in a dynamic of constant weaving. The festival claims an demanding artistic line, far from industrial logics. Here, curiosity is paramount, discoveries are encouraged, and bold proposals find their place.

An irreplaceable experience

In the age of streaming and playlists, Fiest’A Sète reminds us of a reality: nothing replaces the emotion of live music. The sea breeze, unknown languages, shared rhythms, moving bodies—these are elements that make each evening exceptional.

Carried by the Mètisète association and its volunteers, the festival continues year after year with the same objective: to make music a vector of connection, joy, and openness.

Fiest’A Sète is a true invitation to travel, at the heart of the Mediterranean, where cultures meet and where music becomes a universal language.
