The Minister of Territorial Planning, Françoise Gatel, is on a visit to Corsica this Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24. The visit includes meetings with elected officials and field visits.
On Thursday, she starts in Ajaccio with the mayor Stéphane Sbraggia and the deputy Laurent Marcangeli, before having discussions in rural areas and meeting with the mayors of Southern Corsica. She is also scheduled to meet with the President of the Corsican Assembly, Marie-Antoinette Maupertuis.
On Friday, she will head to Upper Corsica with a stop in Castello-di-Rostino (local health, public services), then Bastia to discuss major projects of the city with the mayor Gilles Simeoni, before engaging with the economic actors and elected officials.
This visit comes at a particular time: the upcoming examination of the bill on Corsican autonomy announced for late May or early June and the recent resignation of Gilles Simeoni from the territorial executive after his election as mayor of Bastia.
