The Biennale d’Aix continues its artistic journey and sets course for Italy. From Saturday, April 25 to Monday, April 27, 2026, the Vasarely Foundation welcomes a special guest: the author and composer from Turin, Andrea Laszlo De Simone. Awarded a César in 2023, the artist will present “Una Lunghissima Ombra,” an immersive audiovisual installation that transforms musical listening into a powerful collective moment. A highly anticipated event.
A dialogue between the genius of Vasarely and Italian pop
Born in Turin, Andrea Laszlo De Simone is a standout figure on the European scene. While his name gained recognition in 2023 when he won the César for best original music for the film “Le Règne animal,” he is primarily known for his orchestral and introspective pop music.
For the Biennale d’Aix, he has chosen to connect with the geometric and optical universe of Victor Vasarely. His work “Una Lunghissima Ombra” (“A very long shadow”) is not just a concert but a shared listening experience. The audience is invited to immerse themselves in a dynamic sonic landscape where voices and instruments interact with the architectural space of the Foundation.
A quest for meaning at the heart of the Biennale
This project follows the release of his latest eponymous album, a true collection of emotions and intimate thoughts. Departing from traditional media logics, the artist offers an immersion that brings sound closer to the listener through space and pure emotion.
This programming is part of the 3rd edition of the Biennale d’Aix, which has chosen Italy as the guest country. It’s a rare opportunity for the Aix-en-Provence audience to delve into the cinematographic and lyrical universe of this discreet but immensely talented creator.
Victim of its success
A clear sign of the anticipation surrounding this event, the sessions scheduled every hour over these three days are already sold out. The lucky ones who managed to secure their spot will be able to enjoy the sessions:
