Musician Billy Strings has postponed some tour dates after breaking his leg in a skateboarding crash during a show in Charlottesville, Virginia. He shared in an Instagram post that the accident occurred when he tried a skateboarding trick he has done many times before, landing awkwardly and breaking his leg. Strings mentioned undergoing surgery where screws were inserted into his leg and has been in the hospital for the past few days.

The musician expressed his regret for letting his fans down but ultimately decided to prioritize his recovery based on advice from doctors, friends, and colleagues. As a result, his show in Charleston, West Virginia, originally scheduled for April 22, will now take place on August 4. Similarly, his shows in Fishers, Indiana, planned for April 24-26, have been rescheduled to August 6-8. Fans with tickets for the original dates will be able to use them for the rescheduled shows.

Despite feeling like “such an idiot,” Billy Strings remained thankful that he didn’t suffer more severe injuries. He promised to make it up to his fans and looks forward to seeing them during the summer.
